This is a follow up to a post I made yesterday asking about authenticity of a molcajete. So I cured the thing and made a mean salsa.
Ingredients:
-2 whole roasted vine ripe tomatoes
-1/2 roasted serrano pepper
-1/2 roasted jalapeño pepper
-1/2 a roasted red onion
-2 cloves roasted garlic
-handful fresh cilantro
-2 dried chile de arbol
-1 dried California chili

Recipe sounds delicious. Perfect for zapping in a food processor for a couple seconds.

It looks “Mhuy dehli-seeh oso” That’s coming from a guy that can eat menudo if I don’t think about the texture too much. If I can stay head strong.
Hey that salsa looks great! Congrats on the new molcajete!
One tip for next time, try leaving the tomatoes whole instead of cutting them. This stops their juices from getting loose in the pan and you will get a bit more char on the peppers and onion for a bit more complex flavor.
Should have used 3 jalapeños and 1 serano
Looks great! Any reason in particular for the red onion (as opposed to yellow or white)?
What the heck is a California pepper? Also, that shit seems mild, 1/2 a jalapeno?
